Self Catering Apartment

Our luxurious 2 bedroom apartment has been awarded a coveted Gold award for 2 years running from Visit Britain and is one of Alastair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay’

use the images above to browse the rooms

The accommodation is warm and welcoming, original fireplaces, log burning stove, soothing Farrow and Ball colours, Romo fabric and adjustable lighting create a relaxing atmosphere in which to curl up on the sofas with a book, play board games, or do a jigsaw from the games cupboard. Or you can simply sit and see how many varieties of birds you can spot as they busy themselves in the woods across the road – you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of our rare red squirrels. The apartment has south facing windows in the sitting room and bedrooms overlooking our own woodland, with its splendid rhododendrons and mature trees, masses of snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells.

The bedrooms are separated by the sitting room. The main bedroom has a super-king sized bed, south facing window overlooking our woodland, a beautiful mirrored armoire, and a dressing table. This room can convert to a twin bedded room if required.

The 2nd bedroom is on the other side of the sitting room and has an antique French double bed, from which you can gaze at our majestic copper beech tree and rhododendrons in the woods opposite. It is south facing.

The Bathroom has under floor heating and a huge towel rail, the bath has a shower above and the lighting is adjustable, just the job when you want a relaxing bath after a long day out walking.

The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything we could think of, from salad spinner to hand held blender, ideal for pottering about creating delicious food if you feel so inclined, however if that is definitely not what you want to do on holiday, we can provide the homemade food for you and pop it in the freezer prior to your arrival. This is an optional extra and will need to be pre-ordered. You will find more information about menu choices and other optional extras on our prices page.

Outside, we have created a private courtyard for your exclusive use, huge urns full of hostas, a chimenea and the gentle trickle from the water feature all help to create a tranquil area in which to dine alfresco or simply sit with a coffee and a book. You are also welcome to use the lawn at the side of the house beneath our majestic monkey puzzle tree and admire the incredible views across to the Pennines.
